Turning the Ordinary into the Extraordinary!
Documentary
Documentaries can be serious, silly or anything in-between. They are a great way to share your Childs achievements, a golden anniversary, or as a lively over the hill party spoof.
Start out with a over all plan. Who do you want to include in your documentary. What questions do you want to ask? Do you want to go over the questions with the interviewee first? When doing interviews keep the interviews animated. Ask how they feel about the topic to keep the emotion going. The answer should last no longer then 30 seconds. Bear in mind in post production some interview may be cut in the name of time and interest to the topic.
Do you want to include character re-enactments? This can be quit fun!
Plan to have a monolog directed to the audience at the beginning and/or end.
Consider doing voice over with or with out character on the screen. When added to old video shot it can be very effective.
Panning & zooming in on photos can give a pointed look to your documentary. Anything that would help to enhance it.
